Guidelines for Grant Seekers
Thank you for your interest in the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). To ensure that your request for funding is in harmony with AGRA’s mission, please read the information on this website pertaining to AGRA’s mission and programs (found in the “About AGRA” and “AGRA at Work” web pages).
To be considered for funding, proposals must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- AGRA only makes grants for charitable purposes.
- AGRA only makes grants intended to directly or indirectly provide small-scale farmers with the tools and opportunities they need to boost their productivity, increase their incomes and build better lives.
- AGRA does not make grants intended for construction, endowment, general fundraising drives/fundraising events or for primary and secondary level education.
- AGRA currently makes grants to institutions and not to individuals.
If the activities you propose meet the above guidelines, you are welcome to proceed with your enquiry.
How to apply:
AGRA has a two-step application system composed of a 1-2 page concept application, followed by a full proposal at AGRA’s invitation. (Applicants are advised not to submit the full proposal before their concepts are reviewed and accepted by AGRA program staff).
After careful review of the concept application, a "proposal submission guidelines" may be sent out inviting a full proposal. Please note that a request to submit a proposal does not guarantee funding, but rather is a second step in the review process.
AGRA grants are awarded based on merit, relevance to the specific program goals, and significance in improving productivity for small-scale farmers.
As additional AGRA programs are developed, guidelines for grant requests will be made available on this website.
