International Conference on Innovations in Extension and Advisory Services: Linking Knowledge to Policy and Action for Food and Livelihoods
I am very pleased to be here today to participate as a member of this panel on innovations in extension and advisory services for food and livelihoods. Ladies and gentlemen, permit me to first express my deepest appreciation to the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), along with national and regional partners, including the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute and the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) for organizing this conference. This is indeed an opportune and critical moment for thoughtful reflections on innovations and partnerships in extension and advisory services for stimulating food production and sustaining rural livelihoods on the African continent.
