Ghana-Denmark in accord to support Private Sector Development – AGRA a key implementing partner

In December, the governments of Denmark and Ghana announced unique initiative which aims to support the creation of good and sustainable private sector employment for millions of Ghanaians over the next four years.
Under the agreement, AGRA is set to be one of the key implementing partners of the recently signed budget support agreement between the two governments. AGRA will contribute its expertise in skills development and other activities across the agriculture value chain.
Other beneficiary institutions that signed the program documents were: Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI); Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund, which will use its allocation to finance the Private Sector Development Support II (PSDS II); ARB Apex Bank, to enhance rural financing; Council Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COVET) for its enterprise growth and job creation program and the Royal Danish Embassy.
Dr Andre Bationo, Dr Aboubacar Toure and Deamesi Genevieve represented AGRA at the Ghana-Denmark high level 2009 consultation, where the agreements were sealed and discussions held to deepen the bilateral relationship between the two countries and discuss the challenges faced with the implementation of the on-going DANIDA supported programs/projects.
