Let me start by thanking the government of Ghana for the excellent support and generous hospitality they have accorded to this first-ever African Green Revolution Forum. Let me thank my dear friend, former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo for joining us. I also wish to express my deep appreciation to Prime Minister Peter Pinda of the Republic of Tanzania.

Mozambique: Agra Launches Soil Management Programme
AGRA launched in Maputo on Thursday 2 October 2009, the "Programme for Integrated Soil Management" aimed at improving production among 20,000 farmers in the fertile province of Nampula and Zambezia.
AGRA Grantees Meet in Mali to Strengthen African Seed Systems
Agricultural scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers’ organizations and governments from 20 countries gathered in Bamako, Mali, on 5 October 2009 for a continent-wide conference sponsored by AGRA’s Program for African Seed Systems (PASS). They shared news on progress and set plans to accelerate a major effort to develop and deploy higher-yielding, drought and disease-resistant crop varieties of Africa’s most important food crops.

A Policy Forum on the Wings of the World Economic Forum

Green Revolution in Africa Conference, Oslo
The third annual Africa Green Revolution Conference was held in Oslo, Norway, 27-29 August. The theme of this year’s conference, An Alliance for Action, was most appropriate for an organisation like AGRA, which promotes strategic alliances for improving productivity and profitability of small-scale farms throughout the continent.
Private Sector Forum on African Agricultural Development [Français]
During the High-Level Conference on World Food Security, held 3-5 June 2008, Mr. Kofi A. Annan, chaired a Private Sector Forum that sought concrete action from industry to help ensure food security and spur African agricultural development.
